Bathing Tips

Bathe every 4-6 weeks with a heavy-duty moisturizing shampoo formulated for thick, water-resistant coats. The Newfoundland coat has natural oils that repel water, so you may need to shampoo twice to get a thorough clean. Use a rich conditioner and let it soak for 5 minutes. A high-velocity dryer is absolutely essential -- this coat can take 45-60 minutes to dry completely, and any residual moisture will cause skin issues and odor.

Never shave a double-coated Newfypoo in summer -- the undercoat insulates against heat. Keep the coat well-maintained at a moderate length and ensure shade and water access.
