Bathing Tips

Bathe every 6-8 weeks or less frequently -- Sloughis are naturally clean dogs with very little odor. Use a mild, hypoallergenic shampoo and warm water. Their thin skin is sensitive to harsh chemicals, so choose products carefully. Dry thoroughly and quickly since their lean body chills easily.

Seasonal Care

Sloughis shed minimally year-round with almost no seasonal variation. In Houston summers, their thin coat offers little sun protection -- limit direct sun exposure and provide shade. In winter, they need insulating coats for outdoor time. Their lean, thin-skinned build makes temperature regulation their primary grooming concern.
