Brushing Routine

Brush daily with a pin brush for long coats or every 2-3 days with a slicker brush for shorter trims. The fine, silky hair tangles easily, especially behind the ears, in the armpits, and around leg joints. Use a fine-toothed comb after brushing to catch small knots close to the skin.

Bathing Tips

Bathe every 2-3 weeks using a gentle, moisturizing shampoo for silky coats. Yorkies have hair similar to human hair, so a lightweight conditioner prevents tangling and breakage. Avoid heavy products that weigh down the fine coat. Use lukewarm water and blow-dry on a low heat setting to prevent a frizzy finish.
